Across Wigan, many women are carrying a lot.
They are juggling work, children, caring responsibilities, money pressures and the constant demands of everyday life. From the outside, things can look fine.
But underneath, many feel overwhelmed, exhausted and stretched too thin.
For some, this shows up as stress, anxiety or burnout. For others, it looks like emotional eating, feeling disconnected from themselves, or never quite finding the time or energy to look after their own health.
The issue is not that women do not care about their wellbeing.
It is that support often does not fit the reality of their lives.
We spoke to women across Wigan to understand what gets in the way of looking after their health and wellbeing.
What we heard was consistent.

“No one listens.”
“I’m at the bottom of my list.”

“I give so much of my time and energy to others I am too tired to give to myself.”
“I feel selfish to take that on.”
At Body. Brain. Belief, we create simple, practical wellbeing support that fits around real life.
We do not ask women to try harder or follow strict routines.
Instead, we focus on small, realistic shifts that help women feel calmer, more capable and more supported over time.
Supporting everyday habits that help women feel nourished and steadier — including food, movement, rest and routines that actually fit their life.
Creating more headspace through simple tools, calm structure and practical ways to manage stress and overwhelm.
Rebuilding confidence, self-trust and self-respect — helping women feel worthy of care, rest and support.

When support feels realistic and accessible, things begin to shift.
Women start to feel:
calmer and more emotionally steady
more confident in managing their wellbeing
more connected to others
less alone
In everyday life, this can look like:
small habits that actually stick
clearer thinking and less mental overload
stronger boundaries
more confidence in daily decisions
greater participation in family and community life
These are small changes — but they build into lasting impact.
Even in the early stages, we are seeing clear signs that this approach works.

Repeat attendance across sessions
“Thanks for getting us out.”
“Thanks so much for making me and [X] feel so welcome.”
“It was nice to chat.”
“I wouldn’t do this on my own but I will if I’m doing it with other people.”
“I would have still been in my PJs if I hadn’t come.”
“It’s not long enough.”
These may feel like small moments.
But getting out of the house, feeling welcome, and leaving even slightly more positive are often the first steps towards longer-term change.

When women feel calmer, more confident and more supported, the impact spreads.
It affects how they show up at home, how they manage stress, how connected they feel to others, and how able they are to take part in everyday life.
Over time, this contributes to:
healthier families
stronger communities
less isolation
earlier support instead of crisis response
reduced pressure on services
Make a Donatation
Support one-off sessions, resources or community spaces.
